A bit of training

Cash started agility training last year, we both really enjoyed it but unfortunately, after just a few weeks, the club closed and we failed to find another club. A couple of months ago we managed to resume our lessons at a new club and Cash is doing very well. One of the hardest obstacles to train are the weave poles, especially if you are limited to only training once a week at club. Thankfully our newly turfed chicken garden is now well enough established for me to put some poles up for practice, so, assuming the weather holds, the plan is to train for 5 minutes every day and with a bit of luck we should have this sussed in a couple of months :)
The first 2 videos show us training, the 3rd shows the distractions he is having to deal with :)

Now that Eliza is just about a year old I have started to introduce her to the poles too (no video yet) so that will be one less thing she has to learn when a space becomes available for her to join the agility classes.

The kittens are just fabulous, little monkeys are into everything!

Just out walking the dogs :)

These are just a few very short videos showing how the dogs behave on a typical walk, this is when we are on the fairly narrow paths, when we are in open fields or in the woods they are a bit more animated (as can be seen by photos that I frequently post), but hopefully this gives an insight on how sound all my dogs are with various distractions such as a jogger, group of teenagers, nervy dogs, noisy dogs and young children. As you will notice the dogs don't need to be called away from any of the situations and on these examples I had to need to stop them approaching anyone, but should we meet someone/a dog that is really not comfortable with my gang they will all come when asked and walk in a tight group with me and we would give as wide a berth as possible to whoever is worried.

Purdie is quite an old lady now, she will be 12 in a few weeks. Whilst she still enjoys a very good quality of life she does have quite significant spondylitis and some nerve damage to her back legs, this is managed both with conventional and natural medicine but she also does her own bit of hydro every day by always choosing to paddle down the stream on our walks.

Silver puppies available

Whilst I have no plans for a silver litter in the near future Cash has been entertaining the ladies and this month has seen 2 beautiful silver litters born, sired by him.  There are pups available from at least one of these litters, dogs and bitches. The Mum is fully health tested with a lovely temperament and the pups will be reared in the home. If Cash's previous litters are anything to go by they should be cracking pups. If you are interested please contact their owner, Fiona Smith, directly. They are located in Pewsey, Warwickshire and the contact number is 07876 806370.

Enjoying a fabulous October

The weather continues to be kind to us, so we are making the most of it and getting some fab walks, I am also aware that the girls are due in season anytime now so really don't want to miss any walking opportunities (hoping to repeat the Spirit/Morse litter). Yesterday we went to the beach, I could only take 6 dogs with me so unfortunately Purdie, Alfie and Audrey had to stay home, but Graham was with them and they got to enjoy some good meaty bones whilst we were out.
These are some pics from our morning, there are loads more pics on my Flickr.com account, link on the right of the page.

The kittens are 7 weeks old already! They are super fast now but here are a couple of pics taken whilst they were asleep. Will try and get some more pics over the next few days.

The boys are also enjoying the late sunshine, both my boys are so sociable and fortunately both are able to roam free (alternating times) so they do not have the typical stud cat existance. The main difference between the boys attitude is that Manuel will not tolerate the dogs and all give him a wide berth whilst Fawlty positively enjoys their company, particularly that of Eliza, they really are best buddies .

And last but not least, we have some new additions to our small chicken flock, these are our new girls.
